A Good Day

By March 17th, 2018No Comments

What does a “good day” in recovery look like?

This is the question posed to our Work Sober group this week.

Here are some of the answers we brainstormed with them.

We know it’s good day in our recovery when we:

  • Practice honesty
  • Practice being present
  • Are grateful
  • Can move from negative thinking to positive
  • Enjoy life and/or nature
  • Look after getting our personal needs met
  • Can stay (or return to) the present moment
  • Are serene
  • Have no urges to use, or manageable urges to use
  • Put our recovery first
  • Choose intentionally how to respond to situations
  • Respect others
  • Are kind
  • Look after the simple things
  • Enjoy socializing sober
  • Have a routine or a plan
  • Pray or meditate
  • Laugh
