Mind full, or mindful?

I have seen a version of this cartoon that shows a person and a dog, and only the dog is being mindful. I, however, prefer this version which includes the possibility that WE can all be mindful or have our mind full.

For myself, the key principles of mindfulness are:

  • Not passing judgement on myself or others,
  • Being open to learning new things, and
  • Returning to being grounded in the present moment and experience (especially when dwelling on the past or worrying about the future are causing grief.)

Have these principles been a part of your recovery? If so, how?
